Aotahi Pendant Jade / Gold
Designer: Charlotte Penman

Aotahi is a most important star, and a tapu; it is seen in the Maruaroa season, at its beginning. If its rays extend toward the south it foretells rain and snow, an inclement season; if toward the north a mild season follows. This beautiful necklace embodies Aotahi and its significance, with a lush, organic and polished jade hangs gracefully from a gilded chain.
From Charlotte Penman's Collaboration with the Auckland Museum, and in celebration of the Māori New Year - Matariki.
